About

Welcome!

Growing up in the south suburbs of Chicago, I always had an inquisitive mind and busy hands. My love of tinkering and woodworking came by way of my grandfather, who made a career as a telephone lineman before retiring to a passion of woodworking and carving. In my house growing up, no appliance was safe from being taken apart and rebuilt, solely for the purpose of learning.

My professional career began in finance, spending many years on the trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange before moving on to a hedge fund’s interest rate desk. As the markets evolved, I knew it was time for a change. Embracing my newfound interest in bicycle racing, I found my way into the product development side of a bicycle component manufacturer. After running the field test side of the road cycling business for nearly a decade, I finally seized the opportunity to follow my passion of working with my hands and founded North Shore Handcrafted LLC.

Today, I live in Evanston, IL with my wife Kelsey, our son Barrett, and two dogs.

the Process

Our process will begin with a consultation to discuss your idea, view your space, and understand your budget. We will then begin the drawing and estimating process where we maintain an open dialogue about the timing & execution of your project. All products are fabricated and finished at our shop in Evanston, utilizing as many locally-sourced products as possible.
